Coach Light Inn in Valentine

I use to work here back in highschool 2009. I recommend it then and still recommend it now. Food is amazing, and the staff makes you feel part of the family .

Great place to stop for lunch or dinner. They have a great variety of home cooked food and the service is great. We got the fried mushrooms and chicken livers with Dorthy Lynch dressing for apps and they were done just right. The portions were huge and we weren't able to finish all of them. My husband got the Walleye filet that took 30 minutes to cook but was done perfectly, but did have about a dozen bones. I got the side salad with ranch and cottage cheese, both were great. The pies are homemade and I recommend the cherry.

The worst chicken fried steak I've ever had

Don’t let the high 4.7 rating fool you. Food was lacking in taste and warmth and many other things. By no stretch of the imagination is this fine dining!

This was a delightful place to eat in this small town. The burgers were very good. They fries were plentiful. We got pie to take with us. A nice find.

After driving through South Dakota on our way home for hours and hours, we stumbled on this restaurant shortly after entering Nebraska. The exterior of the building isn’t exciting, but we wanted to give it a chance. Walking in we still had reservations about what to expect in regards to the food. We sat down and were greeted and seated immediately. We were all so pleased with our experience. The waitress was helpful and kind, and the food was great. I recommend stopping there if you’re in the area. wanderingboldly

The atmosphere is a little bit old school but the place is well maintained and very clean. The food is excellent and the portions are huge! Everyone passing through Valentine should definitely eat here. Two thumbs up! 👍 👍

Had a large group. Mary was very accommodating. Service was friendly and our group was pleased. My whole catfish was great! A great down home place to eat.

Good hamburgers and onion rings.

I like this place. I highly recommend the walleye which you would think had just been caught in a MN or Canadian lake and is done just right. The sweet potato fries are nice and come with syrup which really isn't necessary. They have interesting burgers one of which comes with peanut butter! I haven't tried it yet; I'm hooked on the walleye which I don't get very often living here in beef country.

Great FOOD !FANTASTIC ROAST BEEF ! (Lunch Mon - Sat). . . better than "Prime Rib" at 99% of Restaurants serve.Truly HOMEMADE PIES, different every day.Mary still uses the same exact Restaurant Menu Recipes she learned from her Mother/Father & GRANDFATHER.GREAT FOOD . . . from 3 Generations & over 50 YEARS !

Great food, love their fries and homemade pie

We had the BLT and the cheeseburger. Both were very good! The hamburger was homemade and cooked just right. The BLT was hearty and delicious. We both had the rhubarb/strawberry pie which looked homemade and was really yummy topped with ice cream. We would definitely eat here again if we are traveling through. The waiter seemed pretty tired, and he was busy but could’ve been a little friendlier.

Great place, good ol' diner. I love how I can get Liver and Onions. They also serve cucumber sauce with their salads. Very friendly service.

We were in Town to bike the Cowboy Trail & our hotel recommend lunch there. A good place to eat & fair prices.

We had the Coachlight Special burger with bacon, cream cheese, hot pepper jelly and jalapenos. Cooked perfectly and absolutely drippingly delicious. Finished off with a slice of homemade peanutbutter pie which was enjoyed to the last crumb. Well worth the stop which we will do the next time we are in Valentine.

This kid-friendly cafe had good food at good prices. It appears to be where the locals eat. Mary and Mike were working hard to provide friendly service to all customers, despite being short-staffed the evening we visited. Try the homemade cucumber salad dressing!

Food was very good but service was lacking. We weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink.....glasses of water were all that were brought to the table. But, worst of all was the length of time it took to get our meals. 2 meals that were each one of the specials took 40 minutes to get to our table and we were one of only 3 tables that had placed orders. EVERYONE who arrived and/or ordered after us received their food while we waited. It was more than apparent that if you're not local, you're last in line. Nice people but will never eat here again because of the lack of service.

Place was so loud you couldn't have a normal conversation. This has to be a local place. We are not used to screaming children playing with toys on the table at a place to eat. Then the food. Tiny peices on cod for their fish plate. Pork chops dry. Tea undrinkable. Just no flavor with their food. The only waitress for the whole place looked overwhelmed but she did put on her best face. Leave a good tip for her. She deserves it.

Wait staff friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices. Have not had a tuna melt for years. Celery and egg in mix. Toasted on mixed rye. Great! The special was great. Even came with a small piece of homemade strawberry cake! Nostalgic with pics of Marilyn Monroe era stars.
